Ms Potalivo wanted to convert this previously rented property into a home that was warm and welcoming with elements of modern elegance with an open plan design for entertaining with family and friends. This Munster home had been worn down by previous tenants and when Ms Potalivo decided she wanted to move into it as her home she wanted to freshen up the whole house and after being referred to Select Solutions by a family member, she worked closely with our team and the results are an elegant new open plan kitchen, new tiles throughout the home and a new bathroom and laundry.
The first obstacle our team encountered was the bricked up pantry and nib wall right in the middle of the old kitchen. It made the kitchen area small and dark. The main floor area had begun to look tatty by the previous tenants and the bathroom and laundry were basic with minimal storage and light.
By removing the exposed brick pantry from the middle of the room and designing a large island counter with under bench cabinets, the new kitchen revealed a large entertaining area that opened up onto the dining room and was beautifully accented by the large windows enveloping the room with light. Ms Potalivo had always wanted a red back splash, so we worked with that design feature and complimented it with high gloss white cabinetry and stainless steel handles and appliances, resulting in this beautiful new kitchen and living area. Our work also included stripping the old tiles and laying new 600 x 600 stone print Grigio Lappato rectified tiles throughout the house.
The end result is a stunning new open plan kitchen that is inviting and is beautifully accented by the new floor tiles. The renovated Bathroom has provided the client with a lighter and brighter and now with ample storage.
The new laundry now displays some beautiful tiles and a fresh space you would be proud to welcome guests and may even enjoy Doing your washing. The WC also boasts a hidden shower behind the door for extra functionality. Main floor tiles: Stone print Grigio Lappato rectified 600 x 600 Bathroom: Kaleido nero 300 x 600 rectified and White Gloss 300 x 600 Laundry: feature tiles are Maiolica Epoch 01 mix Kitchen: Red glass backsplash, stone benchtop supplied by customer and high gloss white cabinetry

The Teh family found their dream home in Dalkeith about 5 years ago. But its bathrooms lacked the style and design features that would best support a growing family of 5. Mrs Teh has a genuine love for interior design and knew exactly what she wanted so after being referred to Select Solutions by friends, she worked closely with our team to design 3 functional and stunning bathrooms in their new home.
When Ms Samuels decided to downsize, she didn’t want to have to compromise on her style and love for being surrounded by beautiful things. Ms Samuels wanted a home that was low maintenance and wanted to make it her own, virtually putting her stamp on it while making it a haven for herself and her daughters.
European designers have had a reputation for the liberal use of colour in fashion, furniture, automobiles, etc. But this has not always been readily embraced by Australian consumers. While many have admired the bold use of colour for it’s dramatic intent, it’s not the sort of thing they want as a permanent fixture in their home in something as central to their lives as a kitchen.
